Background
After the resounding success of the Technics SL-1200 MK2 and MK3, the MK5 version was launched in 2000. This version was also available in both silver and black. This is the last model in this series with an analog pitch fader.

There is relatively little difference between the MK5 and MK3, especially when considering, for example, the difference between the MK1 and MK2. The biggest change is the expansion of the anti-skating range, from 0 - 3 grams to 0 - 6 grams of pressure. In addition, the slide-out light on the MK5 is an LED instead of a bulb.
