Background
The MK4 , introduced in 1996 and released in limited editions, is the newer version of the MK3 and features a number of improvements. For example, the MK4 features more sophisticated motor control and increased resistance to unintended movement, resulting in more accurate plate rotation.
Furthermore, the MK4 also features an improved anti-kating setting, which improves tracking of the needle on the plate. In addition, the MK4 is equipped with an additional rotation speed (78 RPM). Another fine feature are the detachable RCA and ground cables, instead of the fixed cabling in previous models.
Difference between Japanese and European model?
Most of the turntables we have on this site come from Japan. Some models, such as the MK4, were released specifically for the Japanese market. Due to global trade, of course, they ended up in other countries as well. The only difference between the Japanese and European models is the voltage, as 100V is used in Japan. We supply a transformer as standard with which you can use the turntable on the European network without problems.
